Sammie tries out the aqua accessory at the water park.
2nd CI activation!
So SILLY 🙂
Sammie after 2nd CI
Getting Ready for Friday!
Today as Sammie changed her hearing aid battery, I thought, “this will be the last time she will do that!” The past year has been amazing for her. She can hear so many things that we take for granted. We are very excited for her second implant. I think having some hearing balance will help a lot.
It will be our 3rd implant surgery in a year, between her and Jake. So we are going to be prepared. I will have tons of ice cream, yogurts, and soft foods. Will stock up on ibuprofen, movies, and crafts.

Insurance Approved!
Sammie talking about CI #2!
SURGERY date set!!!!

YAY! Good news came in the mail!
Sammie just got approval for her 2nd CI!!!! WOOOHOOOOO! Sammie is PUMPED!Â
Meet James.
My cousin James was paralyzed last month in a snowboarding accident. He is the 15 year old AWESOME kid with the pink mohawk in the wheelchair on the right in this video.
His c5 vertebrae shattered. His spirit was not. Though low times are imminent and expected, hope, science, and faith can work together to make wonderful things happen.
James, hold on to what you have inside of you. Hold on to laughter, everyday victories, and your family. Right now nothing else matters. Things taken for granted in he past by you or every day by others will be monumental and inspirational to everyone that knows you.
Watching you in this video, moving like you do, is AMAZING. YOU are amazing. You have the world rooting for you James O’Neel. Dig deep James, give it ALL YOU HAVE.
We love you. Work it kid.
We have set up a fund for James, as you might imagine this injury comes with a lot if need. The fund is at Spokane Teachers Credit Union
707 West Main Avenue
Spokane, WA 99201
(509) 326-1954
and you just have to tell them it is for the James O’Neel Benefit Fund.
Sweet Skills and the CI
Something I always worried about with the CI and hearing aids was sports. What if it flies off? Will she be able to hear in the gym or on the field? Well since she got her CI she has been able to hear her team, the opposing team, and her coaches. We are so proud of her!!
The Waiting Game Begins
Sammie has lost all hearing in her unimplanted ear. We have put in the request for insurance approval. She is very frustrated. X( fingers crossed!!!
